Julia

Well, this shoot turned out totally different from the picture I had in my head, but they rarely do! I just love this dramatic, high contrast look. Thank you, Julia, for being so patient on that freezing afternoon!

Barb | VANCOUVER PHOTOGRAPHERS PROJECT

We had our first shoot with Barb just a week ago. We really lucked out on the weather and got some inspirational light to work with. Barb was incredibly awesome in front of the camera and was totally getting my ideas even before I could vocalize them – thank you, Barb!:)I still can’t decide whether I like #1 or #2 best….

s h e r r y - !! :) Love these. Her dress is AWESOME! (I want!)

this summer i went to my first ever Burning Man festival in Black Rock desert in Nevada. One week later, i still can’t get over the experience. i fell in love with the Desert, it’s strange beautiful people, my best friends and myself.

i think everybody has his/her own reason for going to the Burn, but i’m pretty sure that even people who go there just to get drunk/laid, come back with some sense of self reflection. how could you not?

it’s funny, but i feel that the desert made me feel alive. the dry, lifeless, cracked up desert. i’ve never felt as close to my true self as i felt there. laying on the hard, warm Playa, my eyes closed, my heart beating to the vibrations of the Life coming from the ground.

i felt like the outside world was kept still and at the same time, the whole week at Burning Man was a mere second of “real” time. it felt like a lost fragment of space, like a hidden island in the universe, like a glitch in the system, totally free of sense of time, location, rules and expectations. it gave you such a powerful sense of freedom. first, physically, and then mentally. and this is this freedom that i miss the most.

i can’t wait to see where this Journey will take me next year.
